The Hobbit is a 1977 made for television film created by Rankin and Bass. The film is an adaptation of the 1937 book, The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.
Plot

The film remains traditional to the original plot. However, Beorn is exempted from the film and the dwarves start a suicidal mission to protect the Mountain before becoming allies with the Elves and Men.
